A triumphant Renger: 'It went like clockwork'

Renger van der Zande continued his dominant form in the training and qualifying sessions at the Snetterton circuit with a resounding victory in the first race. A poor start resulted in a fourth place in the second race, although that didn’t spoil the fun.

"The first race confirmed our form in the training sessions", Renger begins. "I got off to a perfect start from pole position and drove to victory without problem. The car felt great, and I drove laps almost half a second faster than the others – without any difficulty at all. That’s a really big difference with lap times of a little over a minute!"

"I didn’t get off to a good start in the second race, and since it’s almost impossible to overtake on this circuit I had to be satisfied with fourth place."

"I’m really enjoying myself at the moment. It’s great working with the Hitech team, and I’m in a fantastic flow. It all seems to be going like clockwork: we drive out of the pits, and we’re fast. This certainly was a top weekend, and I’ve really enjoyed myself."

Renger is now in third place in the Championship.
