After a year of hit and run raiding in Britain and Europe and winning at least one race in every championship in which he has competed – Renger is now set to battle in Asia. This season saw him compete in most rounds of British F3 for Hitech and part of the Euro F3 Series for Motopark. Renger will race and try to win for the 3rd different team this year – he’ll make his debut for City of Dreams/ Raikkonen Robertson.

“It is great to be driving in one of the most famous races in the world and with such a good team. I hope our combination of skill and experience can make it a pretty successful weekend.”

Sixteen of the current Formula One grid have raced in Macau and this year 30 of the top F3 drivers from around the world will compete for the coveted title, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard, who all won the world’s most prestigious junior race before progressing into Formula One.

“It is a real street fight and in some places the road is just 7 metres wide! You have to decide whether to defend or attack in these situations and that is what sorts out the good drivers from the bad ones! Macau is a race that every driver, young or old wants to look back and say they won. It would be amazing if this could be my year.”

In the 55 running of the Macau event, no Dutch driver has been victorious in the Formula 3 Grand Prix. Could things be about to change?
